1. Introduction

Welcome to Busitrade ("we," "our," "us"). Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you visit our website [yourwebsite.com] (the "Website"). By using the Website, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect both personal and non-personal information to improve our services and provide you with a seamless experience. This may include:

• Personal Information: Name, email address, phone number, billing information, and any other details you provide when contacting us or using our services.
• Non-Personal Information: Browser type, device information, IP address, pages visited, and other analytics data collected automatically. Where you have given consent, we share page-view and conversion data with Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd via the Meta pixel for advertising measurement (see §3 below).

3. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use the following cookies and tracking technologies on this website:

• Theme preference (strictly necessary). A first-party cookie that stores your light/dark mode choice. It contains no personal data and does not require consent under UK PECR.
• Vercel Analytics (cookieless). We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns. It does not set cookies or store identifiers, so it falls outside the PECR consent requirement.
• Meta pixel (advertising, consent-required). When you accept cookies, we load the Meta pixel, which sets the _fbp first-party cookie and sends page-view and conversion events to Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd for advertising measurement. Meta may transfer this data outside the UK/EEA. The pixel does not load unless you give consent.

You can withdraw your cookie consent at any time by clicking "Cookie settings" in the site footer. Withdrawing consent stops future pixel activity; the _fbp cookie is cleared and the change takes full effect on the next page load.

4. Location Information

The Busitrade mobile app accesses your device's location, both precise (GPS) and approximate, for the purposes below. We do not use location data for advertising, and we do not sell it.

1. Sharing your location with your team (Engineer Map). If your organisation turns on location sharing and you are an engineer, the app collects your precise location during your working hours. This includes when the app is closed or not in use (background location). Your position is sent to Busitrade about every 30 seconds so that your organisation's administrators and team can see where you are on the Engineer Map. While sharing is active, your device shows a notification. Sharing stops automatically outside your working hours. You can stop sharing at any time by turning off location permission for Busitrade in your device settings.
2. Checking in and out of jobs. When you check in to or out of a job, the app records your location at that moment and saves it with the job record. Your organisation uses it to confirm attendance on site.
3. Choosing an address on the map. When you pick an address on a map, the app uses your current location to centre the map near you. This location is processed by Google Maps to display the map and is not stored by Busitrade.
4. Contactless payments (Tap to Pay). When you take a card payment with Tap to Pay, your location is shared with our payment provider, Stripe, which requires it to prevent fraud and meet payment-network rules. Stripe handles it under its own privacy policy (https://stripe.com/privacy).

Who can see it. Your location is visible to authorised users in your organisation and is processed by our service providers (Amazon Web Services for hosting, Google Maps and Stripe) only for the purposes above.

Retention. We keep only your most recent live position, and each update overwrites the previous one, so we never build a history of your movements. That latest position, and the locations recorded when you check in or out of jobs, are kept until you or your organisation ask us to delete them. They are not deleted automatically when location sharing stops or when you stop using the app. To ask for your location data to be deleted, contact support@busitrade.com. We will delete it within 30 days of your request.

Your choices. Location access is optional. You can refuse or withdraw it at any time in your device settings. If you do, location sharing, location-based check-in, centring the map on your position and Tap to Pay will not work, but the rest of the app will.

5. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

• Provide and improve our services.
• Communicate with you regarding inquiries, projects, or support requests.
• Process payments and transactions.
• Personalize your experience on our Website.
• Improve Website functionality and security.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We collect your name, email address, phone number, and business details when you submit a beta application. This information is used for two purposes:

Beta application processing. We process your details to evaluate your application and contact you about your application status. This processing is based on our legitimate interests in managing the beta programme (Art. 6(1)(f) UK GDPR).

Marketing communications. We will only send you product updates and news about Busitrade where you have given us your consent to receive them (Art. 6(1)(a) UK GDPR / PECR). You can withdraw your consent to marketing emails at any time by contacting us at privacy@busitrade.com.

We do not sell your data. We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect your information.

If you are located in the UK/EU, you may request access, correction or deletion of your data by emailing us. We will retain your information only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out above.
